My father and grandfather were Studebaker drivers. Dad had a ’51. I have a 1956 Plymouth convertible, but I still love Studebakers. So much so, that we made a professional video of a So Cal Studebaker club show at the Peterson Museum (we lived in LA for 18 years). I loved the people, the stories, and the cars at that unique event. Good luck with your blog!

Just to let ya’ll know…Kelly added an intro to that Studebaker meet-up on YouTube…you can check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIaPThGFBYk. Thanks for doing that Kelly!! And for any of you in the SoCal area, these meet-ups happen at the Peterson Museum yearly…in fact, I’d better check up on when the date is, I think it’s coming up here pretty soon.

Kiddo, you can come up here to the Trinity’s and hang out in our shop any time! There’s a variety of classics here including Studebakers and Rovers (wink).

Nice shots. My compliments to your photographer. You must have been very kind on his lens. Is that Oliver’s shop in Long beach? That bridge looks familliar.

It was a treat to meet and chat with you at the Coast/House of Kolor party in Vegas. I like your blog and how you bring class to the automotive world. Keep up the great work.

I know….I’m ashamed to say I’ve never made it to one! I know the La Palma is coming up, but I actually can’t make that weekend. I did see in the Studebaker’s Drivers Club recently that the LA Chapter has evening meetings and am hoping to make it next month :)

Hey Grease Girl, I was recently gifted with a 1950 Studebaker Land Cruiser that was originally my Great Grand Dad’s car. It has sat on my Granny’s property for at least the past 30-40 years underneath a canopy of trees. My best friend and I also recently started a new rat rod cruisin’ crew called the Scallywags. This will be my first official project car and I intend to keep it in the family as an heir loom to my kids someday. I see that you have an old Studey as well and was wondering if you have any valuable info as to where i can get original and replacement parts for mine. The car I have is in really good shape (no rust through/only surface, excellent chrome, all original everything), so i will only need little things here and there. Some parts/accessories I would like restored or replaced, but I am really into the rusty and unique stuff too. If you have any ideas or helpful info, please email me. BTW you are gorgeous! I love your website and will be adding it to my favorites list right now. Thanks for what you do and for the positive inspiration. Have a rusty and greasy day! P.S. I will send you some pics of my new project soon.

      Straps-
What a great project and thanks for the positive feedback! I’d love to see pictures.
If you haven’t checked out the Studebaker Drivers Club yet – be sure to do it! Their monthly magazine and online forum in a wealth of information, helpful people, and Studebaker-related services.

      Happy Trails,
      Kristin

Welcome to Grease Girl!

I'm not what you would call your normal grease monkey. I prefer to keep my cuticles trimmed and fingernails red. But when I started driving my 1955 Studebaker Champion I had to get a little greasy! Seeing as I'm more or less new to all this, this blog will be the place to learn along with me. Check back often to see what adventure I'm on next...it'll be fun!
